- Not long ago I’d had enough, of work, life and doing it tough. So I thought long and hard and said to myself, time I got off my bum and hopped off the shelf. For years I had been accruing frequent flyer points, by using my credit card at all sorts of joints. So I booked myself an exciting vacation, to the sun and the sand of an exotic location. The day of departure dawned nice and bright, my newly purchased luggage was packed up tight. With credit card in hand and cash aplenty, I felt 10 years younger and aged about Twenty. The flight to Fiji was truly a breeze, in duty free I bought anything I pleased. Whilst offering my credit card to the handsome cashier, I fluttered my lashes and gave a smile so sincere. He asked me if there was something in my eye, and gave me my credit card as he said good-bye. ‘No matter’ I thought, as I stepped onto the plane, ‘Lots of men where I’m going who I can entertain’. In no time at all I was lying on white sand, was the guy next to me wearing a wedding band? I asked him if he would apply lotion to my back, but he signaled that a command of English he did lack. The funniest thing though, as I looked for cuter males, I thought I heard him mutter to his friend “beached whale”.
- Nothing could ruin my happiness though, so I thought I’d have a little doze. But when I woke up from my nap, my bag was missing from my lap. How that happened is beyond belief, I’d become the victim of a cruel thief! Back at the hotel, I found the phone numbers, I was annoyed I’d fallen into a slumber. My credit card offer was cancelled in no time, I hoped they’d catch the nasty slime. I was lucky my credit card offer was Gold, because it came with travel insurance I was told. I was quickly instructed how I could make a claim, and that being robbed was’t too great a shame. In my luggage I’d kept a spare, a second credit card, my trip was repaired. My holiday had just begun, and I could still have fun in the sun. So off I went to the nearest bar, where I would surely be a star. Later, as I drank my tenth monitor, a young man came over and said ‘hello’. We got talking late into the night, including the tale of my earlier plight. I told him that cheap credit cards were my salvation, and then he extended me an invitation. He called me his petal, his gorgeous flower, and said I could have him for an hour. I didn’t catch on, or his intention construe, until he said he loved cash, but loved credit card offers too!
